CASA VPC LAPA
Renovation and extension of a building in Lapa, Lisbon, into a 430 m² single-family home (T5), located within a conservation area. The front façade has been preserved, while the rest of the building was demolished to make way for a new structure. The terrain’s altimetric level was adjusted, creating an elevated garden level that connects directly to the social areas on the first floor, one level above the street level.

The front façade was restored with white paint, and the Lioz stonework was renewed, maintaining the building’s traditional character. In contrast, the rear façade was redesigned in a more modern style, offering greater flexibility in the opening of external openings, adapting to the demands of everyday life.

On the lower floor, an exterior patio was designed to provide natural light to the interior spaces, creating brighter and more ventilated environments. The intervention seeks to balance the preservation of the building's historical charm with modern solutions, creating a functional and comfortable home that harmonizes with the urban context of Lapa.
